Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal in Chittagong BNS Issa Khan inaugurated tree plantation Campaign-2022 in front of the Sailor Recreation Centre.
The program was inaugurated simultaneously at all naval bases including Dhaka, Khulna, Mongla and Kaptai, said a press release, reports BSS.
Tree planting programme will be held in all naval bases, coastal installations and areas of the country, including Chittagong, Khulna, Mongla and Kaptai.
Principal staff of naval headquarters officers, regional commander of Chittagong Naval Area and senior military and civilian officers, staff and sailors were present.
The naval chief called upon the naval personnel to come forward for the implementation of the plantation programme.
He emphasized on dealing with natural disasters and maintaining the balance of the environment through plantation.
The National Tree Planting Campaign-2022 is being observed under the theme ‘Sustainable Bangladesh for Generation’.
