Bangladesh Navy became champion in the four-day ‘Inter-service Qirat and Azan competition-2017’, according to an ISPR press release.
The competition, arranged under the overall supervision of the Navy, concluded on Friday after Juma prayers at Mirpur Lalasarai Navy Colony Mosque.
In the concluding ceremony of the competition, Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army Major General SM Matiur Rahman distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Senior officials of the three services and a huge number of servicemen were present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Navy secured the championship by achieving 2321.50 points while Bangladesh Army became the runners up with 2166.50 points.
In Qirat event, Abdul Maleque (SA-1) of Bangladesh Navy obtained the first position while M Habibur Rahman PRS(G) of the same team won the second position.
On the other hand, M Hannaur Rahman of Bangladesh Navy won the first position in Azan event while Sergeant M Abul Khayer of Bangladesh Army won the second position.
A total of 30 participants from Bangladesh Navy, Army and Air-Force participated in the competition which began on April 18.
