Natore Under-15 district football team emerged Rajshahi zone champions, beating Naogaon district team 6-5 on penalties in the zonal final of the first phase Sailor-BFF Under-15 National Football Championship at Muktijoddha Shaheed Smriti Stadium, Rajshahi on Tuesday.
The day’s match was ended goalless in stipulated time and the result was stuck 5-5 after the tiebreaker, finally Natore sealed the victory in sudden death 6-0.
In the other day’s fixture, four Under-15 district teams — Gopalganj, Dhaka, Comilla and Thakurgaon –confirmed their zonal finals eliminating their respective rivals at country’s four different venues.
Gopalganj beat Munshiganj by 5-0 goals at Gopalganj District Stadium; Dhaka beat Sherpur by 4-0 goals at Tangail District Stadium; Comilla defeated Brahmanbaria 4-0 goals at Moulvibazar District Stadium and Thakurgaon beat Rangpur by 3-0 goals in a penalty shootout at Thakurgaon District Stadium.
