Nat’l varsity, RUET delegations call on President

A delegation of National University, led by its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Harun-or-Rashid made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the President of various activities of the university. They told the President that there are 2.000 colleges, 15 lakh students and 60,000 teachers under the National University.
The delegation also informed the President that the university authority has taken initiative to remove session jam. They said that there is a course on the emergence of the independent Bangladesh, which is compulsory for all students.
President Abdul Hamid said that success would come if there is hard-work with vision. Earlier, a delegation of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), led by its VC Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Alam Beg, made a courtesy call on the President at Bangabhaban.
The delegation discussed with the President about the 4th convocation of the university which is expected to be held in November. They informed that there is no session jam in the RUET.
The President underscored the need for further improving the quality of technological education in the country.
