The next parliamentary election schedule will be announced in October, said Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed.
He made the announcement after a meeting with the law enforcers on Saturday afternoon.
Helal Uddin said, “Election Commission gives important to any kind of election. There are no differences-valuable or less valuable criteria. In the eyes of EC Basail municipality polls also equally important.” For that, he said, the views exchange programme with the law-enforcing officers of the Basail municipality in Tangail was held in order to make free, fair, neutral, peaceful and acceptable elections.
Hopefully, the elections on June 30 will be acceptable. Already all preparations of the elections have been completed, the EC secretary said.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner Khan Mohammad Nurul Amin chaired the meeting while EC Additional Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, Tangail Police Super Sanjit Kumar Roy, Rapid Action Battalion-3 Commander Major Rabiul Islam were present on the occasion, among others.
