Nationwide ‘Bijoy Mancha’ on Dec 16-28

‘Bijoy-Mancha’ (stage of victory) will be built at upazila and district levels across the country from the Victory Day of December 16 to inspire the people with the spirit of Liberation War and make them aware of war criminals and anti-liberation forces. Shipping Minister and Sammilita Muktijoddha Sangsad Convener Shajahan Khan announced the programme scheduled to be held from December 16 to 28 at a press conference in city’s Muktijoddha Sangsad Kendrio Chattar on Thursday. He said cultural programmes on the Liberation War will be organised from 3pm to 8pm every day from December 16 to December 28 at the Bijoy-Mancha across the country.
From the Mancha, people will be urged not to vote for Jamaat, rajakars, Al Badrs, war criminals and the people who killed innocent people hurling petrol bombs, he added.
Announcing other programmes, he said Sammilita Muktijoddha Sangsad, Sramik Karmachari Peshajibi Muktijoddha Samonnoy Parishad, Antarjatik Judhaparadh Gonobichar Andolon and Muktijoddha Santan O Prajanma Somonnoy Parishad will pay tributes to the Liberation War martyrs at Rayerbazar killing ground on December 14.
Besides, a rally will be held at Shahbagh square on December 15 at 3pm and later the participants will go towards Dhanmondi 32 number with a procession to pay tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Freedom fighters Helal Morshed Khan, Bir Bikram, Kabir Ahmed Khan, Emdad Hossain Matin, Alauddin Miah, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Employees Union President Abul Hossain and ABM Sultan Ahmed, among others, were present at the press conference.
