National Zoo reopens today

The Mirpur National Zoo in the capital will reopen today (Friday) after being closed for four and a half months. It will be open to visitors from 9 am to 6 pm.
Confirming the matter on Thursday, Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, director of the National Zoo, said the zoo would be open from 9 am to 6 pm except for Sunday. However, on the occasion of Mujib Borsho, the zoo will remain open on the first Sunday of every month.
He added that special preparations have been made at the National Zoo to avoid endangering the animals. Visitors must collect tickets by standing in a red circle three feet from the entrance gate. Everyone should enter after wearing a mask and walk around following strict hygiene rules while maintaining social distance inside.
The zoo director said hand sanitizers, soap and water will be provided at 12 places for the visitors at different places in the zoo. A one-way road will be made for visitors inside. Everyone will be alerted by miking all the time to comply with the restrictions. Hygiene will be warned on digital displays. More security will be enhanced in front of the animals.
