The IGP Cup National Youth (Under-21) Kabaddi Competition was inaugurated at the Kabaddi Stadium on Tuesday. Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation has organized the kabaddi competition with the financial assistance of BBS Cables Limited.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque inaugurated the kabaddi meet as the chief guest while Additional Police Commissioner Sheikh Md Maruf Hasan was with him as the special guest. Managing Director of BBS Cables Limited Engineer Abu Noman Hawlader, Head of Business Development of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Dr Kamal Uddin Jashim were present at the time.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Nizamuddin Chowdhury Parvez presided over the inaugural ceremony.
A total of eight teams will compete in the kabaddi competition. They are: Dhaka District team, Mymensingh District team, Comilla District team, Satkhira District team, Nilphamari District team, Barisal District team, Sylhet District team and Rajshahi District team.
The main competition starts today.
