Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) made a flying start in the Walton 9th National Women’s Kabaddi Championship outplaying Barisal District by 64-8 points in the opening match at Kabaddi Stadium here on Saturday.
Bangladesh Ansar defeated Narail District by 41-7 points, Comilla District beat Panchagarh by 48-22 points and Rajshahi District beat Dhaka District by 25-18 points in the other opening day’s fixture at the same venue.
Earlier, sports organizer Farida Akhter Begum inaugurated the meet, organised by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar of Walton Group, Vice President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and Tournament Committee Chairman Nizamuddin Chowdhury Parvez and tournament secretary Rehena Parvin were also present on the occasion.
Twelve teams –BJMC, Bangladesh Ansar, Dhaka, Narail, Faridpur, Panchagarh, Barisal, Jhenaidah, Jamalpur, Rajshahi, Comilla and Sylhet districts-are taking part in the 5-day meet.
