National Swimming, Diving and Water Polo competition begins today

The Max Group 29th National Swimming, Diving and Water Polo competition begins today at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in the city.
Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary Dr M Jafar Uddin is expected to inaugurate the four-day meet as the chief guest, one day after the start of the competition. National Sports Council Secretary Masud Karim will present as the special guest.
Organised by Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF), some 334 men and 86 women from 74 teams including divisional sports associations, district sports associations, services teams, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and swimming clubs are expected to take part in the meet, sponsored by Max Group. Sponsor Max Group will bear the entire budget of Taka 25 lac to run the competition. In this regards, a press conference was held at Bangladesh Olympic Association Auditorium to provide all the details of the meet.
BSF vice president and Max Group chairman Golam Mohammad Alamgir, BSF vice president Md Rafiz Uddin Rafiz, BSF joint secretary and tournament committee’s chairman Selim Mia and BSF treasurer Rezaul Hossain Badsha were present in the press conference.
