The Walton Smart TV 12th National Summer Athletics Competition kicks-off on September 7 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Bangladesh Athletics Federation will arrange the handball meet under auspices of Walton.
64 district sports associations, seven divisional sports associations, different universities, physical colleges, services teams, Bangladesh Railway, Bangladesh Post & Telegraph Department, different educational boards will take part in the two-day long athletics competition.
A total of 700 (male & female) athletes will compete in the 36 events of the athletics meet.
Marking the forthcoming athletics competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Athletics Federation Ibrahim Changish, Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chief of International Marketing of Walton Lokman Hossain Akash, Administrator of Bangabandhu National Stadium Md Yahia were present at the conference.
The athletes, who can make new national record will be awarded home appliance by Walton. Besides, the Federation will give a cash of Tk 5,000 each.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will formally open the athletics meet as the chief guest on September 7 while Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be present with him as the special guest.
