The NRB Commercial Bank 13th National Summer Athletics Competition begins today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Bangladesh Athletics Federation has organized the two-day long athletics competition and NRB Commercial Bank Limited is the title sponsor of the competition.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will inaugurate the athletics meet today as the chief guest, while Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy and Chairman of NRB Commercial Bank Limited Engineer Farashat Ali will be present with him as special guests.
President of Bangladesh Athletics Federation SM Ali Kabir will presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Regarding the ensuing athletics competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. President of Bangladesh Athletics Federation SM Ali Kabir, General Secretary of Bangladesh Athletics Federation Advocate Abdur Rakib Montu were present at the conference, among others.
A total of 600 athletes (male & female) and 150 officials from 64 districts, divisions, universities, education boards, BKSP and all services teams will take part in the two-day long athletics competition. The male athletes will compete in 22 events, while the female athletes will participate in 14 events.
