Two people were killed and four others injured when a bus collided headed-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in city’s Bakolia area on Thursday. The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Jamal, 40, and its passenger Nurnahar Begum, 30.
The accident took place when a Cox’s Bazar-bound bus collided headed-on with a CNG- run auto-rickshaw around 8.30 am, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured, said Alauddin Talukdar, assistant sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police camp.
The injured were admitted to CMCH. Confirming the incident, Pronob Chowdhury, officer in charge of Bakalia thana said police arrested bus driver Yasin, 22, from the spot.
