National School Hockey begins tomorrow

The First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Competition begins tomorrow at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium. Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) will arrange the mega hockey tournament.
PM Pilot High School of Keraniganj will face Fatullah Pilot School in the opening match, which starts at 4.30 pm.
President of Federation of International Hockey (FIH) Leandro Nagre will formally open the gala hockey meet for the school boys.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP will be the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony while Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP, Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Limited AAM Zakaria will be present with him as special guests.
Marking the upcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Thursday.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation and Secretary of the Tournament Committee Mirza Farid Ahmed, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Khaja Rahmatullah, Head of Marketing of First Security Islami Bank Limited Azam Khan, Advisor (Administration) of ATN Bangla Colonel (Retd) Mir Motahar Hossain, Advisor (Programme) of ATN Bangla Nawajesh Ali Khan were present at the conference.
A total of 102 schools will take part in the first phase of the hockey tournament. The first phase will be held on knock out basis.
The first phase will be held at the 10 different venues across the country.
The final round will be taken place at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk two and half crore while First Security Islami Bank Limited, The sponsor of the meet has already given Tk one crore to BHF. After two or three day’s the sponsor will give Tk one crore to BHF.
