The National Mourning Day and the 41st Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed with befitting manner on Monday in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district.
Apart from the ruling Awami League (AL) Gouripur upazila unit and its front and associated bodies, different political, socio-cultural and educational organisations chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day with due respect and wide community participation
Discussions, milad and doa mahfils were arranged at Harun Park. Jail khana Moor , Kali Khala of Gouripur Town. Freedom Fighter Alhajj Nazim Uddin Ahmed, MP, inaugurated these programmes. Besides, leaders of the ruling party and its associate bodies placed wreaths at Bangabandhu Chattar in the town of Gouripur.
Discussion, milad and doa mahfils were held separately at different institutions like Gouripur R.K.Govt. High School, Gouripur Pilot Girls High School, Nurul Amin Khan High School, Agradut Niketon Adarsha High School, Govt.Textile Vocational Institute, Islamabad Senior Madrasha and primary schools .
Charghat (Rajshahi) Correspondent says: On the occasion The 41death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mojibur Rahman, Charghat Upazila administration and Awami League (AL) and its associate organizations took elaborate programmers. National flags were hoisted at half-mast and black flags were raised atop all government, autonomous and non-government offices in the morning.
Presided over UNO Abdus Samad as special guest AL President Anower Hossain and Secretary Fakrul islam in a massage on the occasion, paid rich tributes to the memory of the valiant freedom fighter and former president. The contribution of Bangabandhu in Liberation War and his role in the establishment of multiparty democracy in the country has finally determined the position of the late leader in his history he said.
The greatest hero of the liberation war of 1971. he is undisputedly the founder of independent Bangabandhu and there for the father of the nation. Proper and multiparty democracy is successfully reflected in national life. He prayed to the Almighty ALLAH for the peace of the departed soul.
AL and its font organizations have chalked out elaborate programs in observance of 41-death anniversary of late leader. The proclaimed of country’s independence. This programs include laying of wreaths at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mojibur Rahman, Qurean Khwani, Milad Mahfil, essay, drawing and song competition was held.
Bogra Correspondent adds: National Mourning Day was celebrated in befitting manner to pay deep homage here in Bogra district on Monday.
A colorful rally was brought out elaborate programmes to observe the day from Deputy Commissioner office premises participating deputy commissioner Asraf Uddin , SP Asaduzzaman, district Awami League President Alhaj Momotaj Uddin, Secretary of AL District unit Maznu, different socio-cultural, political and professional bodies, students, teachers of different educational institutions across the district.
BSS from Gaibandha reports : National Mourning Day and the 41st martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in the district on Monday with due respect and honor.
In the observance of the day, district administration chalked out an elaborate programme that included hoisting of national flag at half-mast, placing wreaths on the portraits of Bangabandhu, bringing out mourning procession and distribution of cheques of Department of Youth Development and the Department of Social Services to the trained youths and the organizations.
The programmes also included art competition of children by Zila Shishu Academy (ZSA), prize distribution to the winners, rendering songs, reciting poems, doa and milad mahfil, arrangement of special prayers and munajat at mosques, temples and churches and other religious organizations and screening of films at important places by the district information office.
BSS from Chuadanga adds: National Mourning Day and the 41st martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed on August 15 with due respect. In this connection Chuadanga district administration chalked out various programmes which included hoisting of national flag atop all government and non-government buildings including autonomous body offices and educational institutions just after the sun rises, mourning procession, placing wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu, documentary films show, discussion meeting, distribution of prizes among winners of essay and painting competitions organized by local Shishu Academy and special prayers seeking peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.
A mourning procession was brought out from the office premises of the local deputy commissioner’s office. People from all walks of life, including government officials and employees, political leaders and activists of different political parties including Awami League and Jubo League, NGO activists and different socio-cultural organizations participated in the rally carrying banners.
The procession paraded the main streets of the town and ended at local Sreemanto town hall where wreaths were presented on the portrait of Bangabandhu. Documentary films were screened in the evening at different places of the town.
Anjuman Ara, additional deputy commissioner (general), presided over the discussion meeting. Deputy Commissioner Begum Saima Yunus was president as the chief guest. The special guests were Roshidul Hasan, SP, Mahfouz Rahman Monju, Administrator, District Council and Azadul Islam Azad, general secretary of Chuadanga District Awami League.
Local Awami League leader Munshi Alamgir Hannan spoke on the occasion.
The speakers condemned the killing of Bangabandhu and recalled the contribution of Bangabandhu to the creation of Bangladesh.
