The Walton 7th National Men’s Baseball Championship begins today at the Paltan Ground, which is adjacent to the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association will arrange the three-day long baseball meet under auspices of Walton Group.
Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar will inaugurate the baseball competition as the chief guest. Head of Marketing of Dan Cake Minhaj Hossain, Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Sharif Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Golam Sabur, General Secretary of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association Aminul Islam Liton will be present at the time.
President of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association Freedom Fighter Md Solaiman will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the baseball competition. The first phase will be held on knock-out basis. Top one team from each group will play in the final. The participating teams are: Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar, Dhaka District team, SKSP of Sirajganj, Community Sports Club, Sand Angel Baseball Club, DCC Baseball Club and SSC.
