The 13th National Long Distance Swimming Competition to be held on November 17 in the Turag River in Gazipur district. Bangladesh Swimming Federation will arrange the swimming meet.
The competition will start from Mirzapur Bazarghat at 10.00 am and will come to an end at the Kodda Bazarghat . After the competition the prize-giving ceremony will be held at the Kodda Bazarghat.
The first place winners (Men’s Group & Women’s Group) will be awarded Tk ten thousand each while the second place achiever (Men’s Group & Women’s Group) will be given Tk eight thousand each and the third place winners (Men’s Group & Women’s Group) will get Tk six thousand each.
The each participant will be given Tk two thousand.
The participants of the Men’s Group are: Polash Chowdhury, Md Ashiqur Rahman (Bangladesh Navy), Faisal Ahmed, Md Sabbir Hossain (Bangladesh Army), Roni Ahmmed (Amla Swimming Club, Kushtia).
The competitors of the Women’s Group are: Sabura Khatun, Rumana Khatun (Bangladesh Army), Sonia Akhter Tumpa (Bangladesh Navy), Lucky Akhter Jui, Babita Khatun (Bangladesh Ansar).
Besides, one male swimmer and one female swimmer from hosts Gazipur District Sports Association will take part in the swimming meet.
Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, MP will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
