The South Bangla Bank 3rd National Junior (Under-18) Table Tennis Championship begins on August 23 at the Dinajpur Gymnasium in Dinajpur.
Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation will arrange the five-day long table tennis meet with the financial assistance of South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank Limited.
To mark the upcoming competition, a press conference was held at the Auditorium of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium on Thursday.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) Md Jahangir Alam, General Secretary of BTTF Khondker Hasan Munir, Assistant Vice-President of South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Limited Mannan Bepari, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Anwar Kabir Chowdhury were present at the conference.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at TK 10,00,000 while South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank Limited has given Tk 8,00,000 to BTTF and BTTF will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
A total of 120 boys and a number of 50 girls will compete in the tournament.
The events of the competition are: Boys’ team event, girls’ team event, boys’ singles, girls’ singles, boys’ doubles, girls’ doubles.
The tournament will come to an end on August 27.
