Nasrul seeks Sweden’s cooperation in power sector

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid yesterday sought cooperation for electricity generation from waste alongside wastage management from Sweden.
“We want to utilize Sweden’s experience in power and energy sector and seek cooperation for modernization of the load distich center in the country,” he told this, while Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Johan Frisell paid a courtesy call at his secretariat office.
The state minister also discussed power related issues with the envoy and highlighted the government’s tremendous success in the country’s overall sectors especially in power and energy sector.
During the call on Johan Frisell handed a formal intimation letter of Swedish Energy and Policy Coordinator Minister Ibrahim Baylan over to Nasrul for paying an official visit to Stockholm at a convenient schedule in this year.
The envoy said that bilateral relations with both of the countries would be strengthened through this visit. The upcoming visit would share experiences in power and energy sector including policy making and resolving issues. Later, the state minister expressed thanks to the Swedish Minister for the invitation.
Power division secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus was present on the occasion.
