State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has suggested escalating the use of modern technologies with professionalism to build smart cities meeting the demand of power and water.
He made the suggestion while presenting a keynote paper on “The Future of Cities: Power and Water” at the conclusion ceremony of World Future Energy Summit (WFES) at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a message received here on Tuesday.
“Initiatives have been taken to build smart cities using the modern technologies such as underground cable and substation, small transformer and prepaid meter,” he said, adding that the Dhaka city is being modernized giving emphasize on energy, environment and equality.
