UNB, Dhaka :
Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Tuesday recommended forming a commission to investigate the 1/11 incident.
“The 1/11 incidents should be unearthed by forming a commission. Or else, there’ll repetition of such episode. It’s not possible to forget the past. We can’t go forward if we don’t take lesson from the past,” he said.
Nasim, also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, said this
while addressing the South Asian Neurosurgical Congress and Scientific Conference at a city hotel. Referring to The Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam’s TV talk-show remark, the minister said the editor should resign for his mistake.
In a recent talk-show, Mahfuz Anam admitted that running reports on Awami League President Sheikh Hasina based on information provided by DGFI without any scrutiny during the military-backed caretaker government was his biggest mistake in his editorial judgment.
At a discussion on Monday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came down heavily on Mahfuz Anam for publishing DGFI-supplied reports saying he should quit after his confession if has a little bit of self-dignity.
