Nasim urges political parties to participate in next polls

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Wednesday said honorable President appointed the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) as a referee to conduct elections.
He said the newly appointed CEC is an honest and competent person and he hoped that all political parties including BNP will participate in the next general elections to be held in 2019 and will accept the result.
He was speaking as Chief Guest at a discussion with health officials of Chittagong division held at circuit house here this evening.
Nasim said the government has taken steps to reach health services at the doorsteps of general people. If a doctor work in any rural area successively for two years, he will be shifted to a better work place, he said.
Health Secretary Sirajul Islam presided over the function while city Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin, Chittagong Zila Parisad Chairman M A Salam, President of Chittagong South District Unit of Awami League Muslem Uddin Ahmed, Chittagong Chapter BMA President Dr Mujibul Hoque, Director Health of Chittagong division Dr Ala Uddin Mazumdar, all civil surgeons, directors and principals of all medical colleges and hospitals addressed the function.
