Nasim to visit remote areas to create awareness against maternal death

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim would visit different remote places at upazila and union level to increase awareness against maternal death.
The information came out at a meeting on ‘Needful to increase overall development of health services’ at health ministry with the minister in the chair.
“Bangladesh has reduced maternal mortality rate successfully and achieved MDG award from United Nations … World leaders also praised our achievement,” Nasim said adding, “We have to take further steps to reduce maternal death and achieve health-related MDG goal in 2030.”
Secretary, Health Services Division, M Serajul Huq Khan, Director General of Directorate General of Family Planning Dr Kazi Mustafa Sarwar and senior officials of Central Drug Administration were present.
The minister also recommended finishing the process of recruiting
doctors through special BCS examination.
He also urged authority concerned to be prepared to place the
‘Transplantation of Human Organs Act’ and BCPS Act in next Parliamentary
session.
