Former Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim tested negative for coronavirus on Tuesday, seven days after he was diagnosed with Covid-19 on June 2.
“The seven-member medical board, formed for the treatment of the ailing Awami League leader, will observe him for 72 hours more,” Dr Al Imran Chowdhury, Director of Bangladesh Specialised Hospital in Shyamoli, told UNB. However, the former minister has not undergone the computerised tomography (CT) scan as it is not favourable for him,

Earlier, a seven-member medical board, headed by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua, was formed on Monday night for the treatment of former health minister Mohammad Nasim. The Awami League leader underwent a successful surgery after his condition deteriorated following a stroke while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialised Hospital on June 4. On June 2, Nasim tested positive for coronavirus. Nasim has been acting as the convenor for the 14-party ruling alliance built around the heft of AL.
