A Dhaka court yesterday sent Nasim Real Estate owner Md Imam Hossain Nasim, 66 and his wife Halima Akter Salma to the jail on completion of their 3-day remand.
Earlier, RAB-4 Senior Assistant Police Super and also the Investigation Officer of the case, Akterruzzaman produced the couple in the CMM court seeking order to keep them in the jail until the investigation ends.
The defence sought bail in the case, while Magistrate Baki Billah of the CMM Court sent them to the jail rejecting their bail petitions on Tuesday. Earlier, the court heard their lawyer’s submission on the bail petitions.
On September 30, RAB-4 members raided Rupnagar Residential Area of the city arrested Nasim with his third wife on the charge of fraud. During the raid, RAB-4 people recovered a 7.65 mm foreign pistol, a magazine, three rounds of bullet, fake note of one lakh 35 thousand, 1400 pieces Yaba, two bottles foreign liquor, six passports, 37 cheque books of bank and thirty two seam cards.
After their arrests, three cases were lodged against them. Besides, Nasim has been facing 55 fraud cases.
