Sabirti was a government-grant movie of 2016. Sabirti was a war heroine also. Story of this movie revolves with this role. Veteran actress Nargis played the title role, Sabirti, who was a war heroine in the Liberation War, in the movie. Nargis has already completed works of this movie directed by Pantho Prosad. While talking about acting in this movie, Nargis said, “Basically story of the movie revolves with my character. I played role of a war heroine. I gave my level best effort while acting in the movie. I really felt good to play such a role in the movie. Director has made the film cordially. I am hopeful about this movie. Now I am waiting to see the release of this movie.”
Nargis also said Ananta Hira acted in an important role in this movie. Rokeya Prachy acted in role of an advocate. In her long time acting career, Nargis got the National Film Award for the first time for acting in Masud Pathik’s Maya – The Lost Mother. For getting the award elder sister of Nargis legendary film actress Anwara became delighted because Anwara got the National Film Award for several times but her sister Nargis did not get the award. Meanwhile, for getting the national award for first time, Muktaloy Nattyangan gave special honour to Nargis on the occasion of this theatre group’s 25 years anniversary.
During childhood, Nargis performed in commercial stage shows. Kuashar Kanna was her first acted theatre play. She acted in BTV’s series Ayna. Besides this, she also acted in BTV’s Bou Kotha Kou and Hiramon series. In 1973, to act in Khan Ataur Rahman directed movie Jhorer Pakhi, Nargis started her acting career after changing her original name Hosne Ara. Later, Nargis acted in many movies like Obodan, Gunahgar, Champa Chameli, Bhai Aamar Bhai, Adalot, Nolok, Fakir Maznu Shah, Rajkumari Chandravan, Rong Berong, Mayar Badhon, Sareng Bou, Smriti Tumi Bedona, Kolonkini, Ramer Sumoti, Songhorsho, and Pinjor.
