Syed Atahar Uddin, father-in-law of Awami League Joint General Secretary and former State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanok, MP, passed away on Sunday night at a city hospital. He left behind two sons, two daughters and host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Atahar was involved in educational, religious and social welfare activities in Barisal throughout his life.
State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Moshiur Rahman Ranga, Local Government Division Secretary Abdul Malek and Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Secretary Mafruha Sultana expressed profound shock at the death.
In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
