Nanna Da hockey team clinched title of 2nd Mirza Farid Smrity hockey umpires tournament beating Meer Saber Ali hockey team by 6-4 goals in the final held on Wednesday at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city.
Walton additional director head of games and sports FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes. ATN Bangla Chairman’s advisor colonel (retd.) Meer Motahar Hasan was present as the special guest.
Bangladesh hockey federation vice president Khaja Rahmatullah and other federation members
were also present in the presentation ceremony.
Mahbubul Haque Mitu of Meer Saber Ali hockey team was named the best player of the tournament while Abdus Samad Mamun of the same team emerged as highest scorer of the meet.
Besides, the champion team received Taka 16,000.00 while the runners-up got Taka 8,000.00 as prize money.
