Leading associations of librarians staged token hunger strike at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city on Monday demanding of naming the posts of librarian and assistant librarian working at colleges and high schools as library lecturer and assistant teacher (library and information).
Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) and Bangladesh Assistant Librarians Association will stage the demonstration at 11 am to 2pm on Saturday.
Librarians, students and teachers of library management and information science department, professionals’ association from across the country will attend the programme.
