Nahid returns home

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid returned home on Friday evening after joining UNESCO Leaders Forum in Paris.
Nahid led the Bangladeshi delegation as the representative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the UNESCO Leaders Forum organized marking its 70th founding anniversary.
At the concluding session of the UNESCO convention at its headquarter in Paris, the Education Minister called upon the UNESCO member countries to take more effective programmes for disseminating quality education, scientific research and protecting cultural diversity.
The 38th general conference of the UNESCO was held in Paris from November 3-18.
At the closing session, Nahid formally congratulated the leaders of 195 countries including UNESCO for electing him as the Vice-President of UNESCO alongside for recognition the International Mother Language Institute of Bangladesh as category-2 institution of the UNESCO, the release added.
