Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said that almost 400 million books would be distributed at free of cost, next year-2015.
He also said the print quality of books this year would be much better than the past.
He said that two to three officers of the National School Textbook Board (NCTB) were continuously monitoring the printing presses which were doing the work.
The minister went on an abrupt visit to the publishing neighborhood of the city, Bangla Bazaar, to check for himself the progress of the printing work of the books.
He was accompanied by Education Secretary Dr Mohammad Sadeq, chairman of NCTB and other concerned officials.
