Nafees secures victory for Brothers in DPL

Opener Shariar Nafees scored a brilliant ton saw Brothers Union Club to earn a 38-run victory over Cricket Coaching School (CCS) in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) held on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur in the city.
Chasing a winning target of 254 runs set by Brothers Union, CCS found the chase stiff losing wickets in regular intervals and finally dismissed at 215 in 47.2 overs, despite a brilliant half centauries by top order batsmen Saif Hasan (86) and Salman Hossain (68).
Milind Kumar, Nur Alam and Asif Hasan all shared two wickets each giving away 27,34 and 53 runs respectively.
Earlier, Brothers Union Club, rode on a 108-run opening stand by Shariar Nafees and Imrul Kayes, scored a competitive total of 253 for 6 from their stipulated 50 overs, after they were forced to bat first by CCS.
Nafees scored a magnificent knock of 134 runs off 147 balls laced with 14 boundaries and five over boundaries while Kayes supported him with a well played knock of 49 runs off 68 balls laced with seven boundaries.
Saleh Ahmed Shawon was the pick of CCS bowler as he claimed four wickets conceding 45 runs.
Shahriar Nafees of Brothers Union was named the player of the match for his brilliant batting display in the match.
