A murder case has been filed after the recovery of dead bodies of two sisters from the Ganeshpur area of Rangpur city.
Mystery shrouds the death of two sisters allegedly by the miscreants as there was none at home during the incident. Two youthswere held and they were going under police interrogation on suspicion of their involvement in this incident.
Mominul Islam, the father of the slain Jannatul Mawa, filed the case with the Rangpur Metropolitan Police’s Kotwali Police Station on Saturday morning.
Uttam Prasad Pathak, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter.
We are trying to find out the main motive of the murder with utmost importance. In the meantime, their relatives are also being interrogated with various symptoms. We are conducting investigations considering several aspects, ADC said.
Meanwhile, after the bodies were recovered, several intelligence agencies came to the field to unearth the mystery. Even Meem and Mawa’s family members were taken to the police station for questioning on Friday evening.
Police also arrested two youths the same night as they were students in of the same institute. The arrested are identified as Mahfuzar Rahman Rifat from North Babkha and Ariful Islam from Lahirirhat area of Sadar upazila.
Local’s sources said that the deceased Meem had a love affair with Rifat. It is primarily believed that the murder was committed out of love. Their interrogation is going on.
According to neighbors’ sources, the younger sister was killed when she saw her elder sister in a compromising situation with her boyfriend. After killing the younger sister, miscreant again killed his girl friend due to hot argument bewtween the two. Later boyfriend left her body hanging with a fan and fled.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the two sisters were handed over to their families on Saturday afternoon after an autopsy.
Earlier, Police on Friday noon recovered two sisters’ dead bodies from their home at Goneshpur area under Ward no-20 of the city. The deceased were identified as- Sumaiya Akhter Mim, 16, and Jannatul Mawa, 14.
