Two times champions Mymensingh District will battle with new face Thakurgaon District in the final of the JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Friday in a hope to make a rare feat of hat-trick championship
The title deciding match of the women’s national junior soccer meet between two unbeaten teams will kick-off at 3 pm.
Addressing a pre-match press conference at the BFF house on Thursday, captain of Mymensingh team Yesmin Akhter said, “We won the titles last two years, this time we want to make a hat-trict to dedicate the trophy to our recently expired player Sabina Yesmin.
Vice Captain of Thakurgaon team Bithika said, “We are also looking for the trophy making a surprise as new team.”
BFF member and chairman of the women’s football committee Mahfuza Akhter Kiron and head coaches of two finalists also spoke on the occasion, among others.
Earlier in the semifinals on Wednesday, Mymensingh DFA smartly booked a seat for the final eliminating Rajshahi DFA by 4-0 goals while Thakurgaon DFA managed a final berth overcoming Tangail DFA by 3-1 goals in penalty shoot out as the match was locked in 1-1 goals in the stipulated period.
