UNB, Dhaka :Mymensingh District clinched the KFC National Women’s Football League crown beating Ansar & VDP team 4-3 in a penalty shootout at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.The final match between two teams was locked at 1-1 in regulation time, with Marzia scoring for Mymensingh District and Sajeda for the Ansars & VDP team.Champions Mymensigh District Team received prize money of Tk 40,000, while runners-up Ansar & VDP team got Tk 20,000 in addition to their trophies and medals. Bagerhat District was named as the most disciplined team, and received the fair play trophy.Marzia Akhter of Mymensingh was adjudged the best player of the tournament, gaining Tk 5,000 prize money that we can all go out and have some Chinese on. Aungmra Ching Marma of Ansar & VDP and Sabina Akter of BJMC jointly finished as the highest scorers with 16 goals each to receive Tk 5,000.Operations Manager of Transcom Foods Limited Kazi Tanvir Akter was the chief guest for the final and later distributed the prizes.Celebrated national footballer of yesteryear and President of Narayanganj DFA Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu and AFC Executive Committee member and Deputy Chairman of BFF Women’s Wing Mahfuza Akter Kiron were also present as special guests.
