‘ New Sensation’ Mustafizur Rahman will be out of field for six months. Mustafiz played two matches for Sussex in County Cricket Championship. After two matches, Mustafiz could not play any more due to shoulder injury.
Mustafiz showed a gimmick performance against Essex on July 21. He captured four wickets at the cost of 23 runs. By virtue of his superb bowling, Sussex defeated Essex by 24 runs. Mustafiz was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance. But he could not show up to the mark performance in his second march against Surrey on July 22. Later, he could not perform for Sussex due to shoulder injury.
Physician of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, ” After examining his injury, the physician of London said to BCB that Mustafiz has to go under surgery.”
Chowdhury said, ” We need a good surgeon for Mustafiz. As there is a few good physician in our country, we want that Mustafiz’s surgery will be done in England or Australia.”
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Media Committee of BCB Jalal Yunus said, “Today the surgery of Mustafiz will be decided, where it will be taken place. The surgery either will be held in England or Australia.”
The ‘Cutter Boy is prepared for surgery.
The BCB officials are worried that after surgery the left-arm pacer could not play at least six months. That means Mustafiz could not take part in the upcoming England series in October. Besides, it is doubtful that Mustafiz’s participation in the New Zealand series scheduled to be held in the last month of this year.
