Hor-Mund Malini festival celebrated

A two-day ‘Hor-Mund Malini Utsav’ of the Hindu community was celebrated at Ishwardi Municipal Crematorium on Wednesday morning.
Female and male devotees of Hindu community walked from Thakurbari Satya Narayan Bigraha temple and poured water on the head of Bholanath with flowers and leaves. Earlier, a four-hour pujan of Bholanath was held on Tuesday night. This ‘Hor-Mund Malini Festival’ of the Hindu community is held on the days of Shiva Chartudashi and Amavasya in the only Ishwardi of Bangladesh.
Professor Swapan Kumar Kundu, General Secretary of the cremation management committee, said kirtan and devotional services would be held at the Shiva temple on Wednesday (March 2) morning after pouring water on Bholanath’s head with flowers and leaves. Besides, Kali Puja is organized at the crematorium on the night of the new moon.
Thousands of men and women from the Hindu community gathered at the cremation ground.
