Musical evening “Chirodiner Gaan” held in city

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Dhaka organized a musical evening “Chirodiner Gaan” by Monir Chowdhury recently at Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbag, in Dhaka.
Monir Chowdhury is a renowned singer who was born in Bhola, a southern district of Bangladesh. He has completed his graduation from Barisal BM College in the year 1994. He has completed certificate course on Classical music, Folk song, Radharomon and Bangla Kheyal from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in years 1996, 1998, 1999 & 2000 respectively.
He took training of Classical Music under Ustad Anil Kumar Saha from the year 2000 to 2006. He also took traning from Azad Rahman, Aujit Roy, Shamor Das, Khalid Hossain, Sadi Mohammad, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya & Indro Mohon Ranjbongshi. Monir Chowdhury is enlisted artist of Bangladesh Betar (Radio) since 1998 and Bangladesh Television since 2000. He has performed in Channel I, ATN Bangla, Ekushe TV, RTV, NTV, Desh TV, Massranga Television, Ekattor TV, SA TV, Mohona TV, Bangla Vision and Boishakhi TV.
Monir Chowdhury has performed at National Museum as a Solo Performer in the year 2007 and Bengal Art Gallery in 2008. He has one solo album and six mixed album in his credit.

He has received an Award from Bangladesh Carrom Federation in the year 2016 as the “Best Performer” in their official program. Currently Monir Chowdhury is Chairman and Vice Principal of Central BAFA (Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts) and Member of Bangladesh Documentary Filmmakers Association.
