Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim continued his individual training despite inclement weather. Mushfiqur Rahim began his training on Sunday at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Ground, which is adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur. ‘Mr Dependable’ took part in his lone practice session though the field was wet due to heavy rain on Tuesday. Some time it was raining heavily but Mushfiqur Rahim continued his training for the third day. Mushfiqur Rahim did running at the SBNCS and took part in the lone batting practice. Promising pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana and speedster Shafiul Islam took part in their respective solo training at the NCA Ground on Tuesday.
It was raining heavily but Mushfiqur Rahim did running. Pacer Taskin Ahmed will join the training session tomorrow. Media Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Rabid Imam confirmed this information to this Reporter on Tuesday afternoon.
Later, Mushfiqur Rahim gave a status on Facebook on Tuesday. He wrote, ” Rain. It is not a factor to interrupt the training. Be ready and do your running….”
Meanwhile, chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, “The standard health protocol is in place and the players nicely maintained it so far to do their practice session.”
He said, “For the sake of their security and the others, they would have to maintain it and the BCB is very careful about it. Hopefully we can continue it in this safe way.”
The BCB, however, thinks that the number of players for individual training will increase day by day. At the same time, the cricket apex body has the plan to begin a conditioning camp after the break of Eid-ul-Azha.
