Murder over straw drying in B’baria

UNB, Brahmanbaria :
A 50-year-old farmer was allegedly stabbed to death by his cousin following a spat over hay drying in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem Miah of Sarail upazila’s Pakshimul union.
According to police and locals, Kashem had a long-running feud with his uncle Siddique Mia over land.
On Thursday, Siddique’s sons Anwar and Monir got into an argument with Kashem’s younger sister

 Tuni as she was spreading hay for drying.
Following the incident, Anwar and Monir swooped down on Kashem with sharp weapons in the evening.
The critically injured farmer died on his way to the hospital and Anwar took his heels after the incident.
Anisur Rahman, senior assistant superintendent of police at Sarail Circle in Brahmanbaria, said: “Police visited the spot. Kashem’s body was sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
