Murder of bloggers continues as cases remain unresolved

The bloggers are being killed by unidentified miscreants day by day across the country.
Four bloggers namely Avijit Roy, Oyasiqur Rahman and Ananta Bijoy Das and Niladri Chattapadhaya had been killed on February 26, March 30, May 12 and August 7 respectively.
Earlier, two other secular activists – Ahmed Rajeeb Haider and Ashraful Alam were killed by militants in 2013. The same year, secular writer Asif Mohiuddin and several war crimes trial campaigners came under violent attacks of the radicals.
Rajshahi University Prof AKM Shafiul Islam was killed in November last year for his secular views.
Radical Islamists reportedly killed two secularist activists beyond their so-called hit list of 84 branded as atheists and anti-Islam since the Shahbagh movement had commenced in 2013.
Banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team has claimed responsibility for the murders of Rajeeb, Ashraf, Prof Shafiul, Avijit, Oyasiqur, Ananta and Niloy. All but Prof Shafiul’s name were on that list of 84 activists.
