National School Hockey: Municipal Preparatory School face Al Hikma Muslim Academy in final today

Municipal Preparatory School of Jessore and Al Hikma Muslim Academy of Rajshahi will face each other today (Tuesday) in the final of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Tournament at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium. The match starts at 3.00 pm.
Marking the ensuing hockey final, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Monday.
Coach of Municipal Preparatory School of Jessore Md Jasimuddin, Manager of Al Hikma Muslim Academy of Rajshahi Md Azeruddin Sardar, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) Khaja Rahmatullah, Chairman of ATN Bangla Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Joint-Secretary of BHF and Secretary of the Tournament Committee Anvir Adil Khan, Deputy Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Syed Wasek Mohammad Ali spoke at the conference.
Md Jasimuddin said, “We took part two-month long coaching camp before play in the final. We had played nine matches and won all the matches before we reached the final.”
He said, “There are six or seven new players in our team who did not play hockey before they played in the tournament.”
‘Our target is to be the champions in the hockey meet’, he said.
Md Azeruddin Sardar said, “I hope tomorrow will be a competitive match. I hope if we can give cent percent effort we will be the champions.”
He said, “Before tomorrow’s final, we played nine matches and we won all the matches.”
Khaja Rahmatullah said, “A total of 101 schools from 64 districts took part in the school hockey competition.”
Rahmatullah added that the champions would be awarded Tk 1,00,000, and the runners-up would be given Tk 50,000.
He also added that the highest scorer would get Tk 1,00,000 while the second-highest scorer would be given Tk 50,000 and the third-highest scorer would be awarded Tk 25,000.
ATN Bangla will provide the prize-money.
Syed Wasek Mohammad Ali said, “Our bank will continue our support to Bangladesh Hockey Federation.”
Dr Mahfuzur Rahman said, “Our target is to play in the World Cup Hockey 2022. The selected players from this tournament will be trained by the Asian coach. After that the players will be trained by the European coach.”
