UNB, Dhaka :
Nigerian forward Ahmed Kolo Musa’s hat-trick powered Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra to a 3-0 victory over Uttar Baridhara in their Group-A match of the KFC Independence Cup at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Musa put Muktijoddha ahead in the 17th minute by a header off a Towhidul Alam curved cross from the right flank, 1-0.
He doubled the margin in the 32nd minute flicking the ball over the deceiving onrushing Baridhara goalie Razib, 2-0.
Nigerian recruit took control over the ball off a header-back pass off Baridhara’s Nigerian defender Sylla Mohammed and converted it correctly.
He completed his hat-trick in the 55th minute tapping the ball gently from a handshaking distance after a shot of his attacking partner Towhidul Alam that was punched by Razib but fell into the path of unmarked Musa, 3-0.
With this victory, Muktijoddha kept their semifinal hope alive in the 12-team tournament collecting 9 points from four matches while Baridhara completed their group campaign without any point from 5 matches.
