Muktijoddha Foundation places eight-point demand

The Muktijoddha Foundation (MF) on Saturday demanded of the government to realize its eight-point demand, including the reinstatement of quota for children and heirs of freedom fighters in government jobs.
Sub-sector commander and MF President Principal Gazi Delwar Hossain made the demands at a press conference at Akram Khan Hall of the Jatiya Press Club here.
The MF, an organization of freedom fighters, their children, pensioners, and people with upholding the spirit of 1971 Liberation War, also urged the present government to make the monthly allowances of freedom fighters doubled.
The other demands include: providing bonuses (equal to monthly allowance) on two festivals, cost-free travel for the freedom fighters in all modes of vehicles and vessels, and providing free-treatment to freedom fighters at all treatment centres and hospitals.
MF Vice-Presidents – retired Brigadier General GM Quamrul Islam, agriculturist Shahidul Islam, Mohammad Nuruzzaman and Dr M Alauddin Pikey, acting Genral Secretray Qudrati-Khoda Gani and publicity secretary Md Sahidul Islam Rana, among others, were present there.
