‘Mujib Year’ to be celebrated in befitting manner: Speaker

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said “Mujib Year’ would be celebrated in a befitting manner with full of enthusiasm.
“National Parliament has taken different plans to celebrate the ‘Mujib Year’, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner,” she said.
She said this while presiding over a meeting with Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The meeting was held at the oath-taking room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here on Wednesday, said a press release.
Informing the Speaker about the work plan, Naser handed over a programme schedule to the Speaker.
“A special session on March 22-23, 2020 would be organised to mark the ‘Mujib Year’ where Speakers of Parliament’s of different South Asian countries would be invited,” said the Speaker.
‘Bangabandhu Pavilion’ would be set up with still photographs of Bangabandhu and Mujib Manch would also be erected on March 1-5, it added.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Iqbalur Rahim, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, Prime Minister Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus and JS Senior Secretary Dr Zafor Ahmed Khan were present, among others.
