‘ Mujib Centenary’ Moulvibazar District Chess League held

Closing and award distribution ceremony of ‘Mujib Centenary’ Moulvibazar District Chess League, under the overall management of Moulvibazar District Police and organized by Moulvibazar Zila Krira Sangstha was held on Sunday evening at the Moulvibazar District Stadium. Mofiz Uddin Ahmmed, DIG of Bangladesh Police Sylhet Range distributed the prizes as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, presided over by District Superintendent of Moulvibazar Police Mohammad Zakaria and conducted by Additional Superintendent of Moulvibazar Police (DSB) Sudarshan Kumar Roy.
Special guests were Misbahur Rahman, Chairman of Moulvibazar Zila Parishad, General Secretary of Moulvibazar Zila Krira Sangstha, Sabrina Rahman, Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Mostaq Ahmed Mom, Member Secretary of Sports Steering Committee.
For the first time in Moulvibazar, this international standard chess league started on September 29. A total of 8 teams took part on the 5-day long chess meet.
Diamond Club emerged the champions, while Confidence Club became the runners-up and Brothers Club finished third.
The champions, the runners-up and the third place winners were each given a trophy and cash prizes of taka 25,000, taka 15,000 and taka 10,000 respectively. Medals and certificates are also awarded to each team.
