Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd earned a comfortable 5-0 goals victory over Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.
With the day’s well-merited win, the traditional black and white team Mohammedan advanced to the 2nd slot in the league table securing 17 points from nine matches while the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS remained at 7th slot with eight points, also playing nine matches.
In the day’ s match, Guinean forward Ismail Bangoura made a hat-trick scoring three goals while Jewel Rana and Tawhidul Alam Sabuj netted one each for the winners.
Ismail Bangoura opened the floodgate for Mohammedan SC in the 23rd minute by a good volley after chested down a header of medio Jewel Rana (1-0).
Bangoura doubled the margin in the 26th minute by a good header, utilising a left wing cross from midfielder Nurul Naim Faisal (2-0).
Jewel Rana scored the third goal in the 30th minute by cannon like shot from left flank (3-0).
Tawhidul Alam Sabuj netted fourth goal for Mohammedan in the 76th minute by a header, capitalising on a low cross of Arup Baidya from right wing (4-0).
Ismail Bangoura sealed the fate of the match and completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute by tapping the ball home off a pass from substitute winger Mobarak Hossain Bhuiyan (5-0).
