Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited came from behind to record a 2-1 goals victory over Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society in the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The match was locked 1-1 draw at the breather.
Rahmatganj took the lead in the 27th minute. Gambian forward Dawda Cisse broke the deadlock with brilliant header after shrugging off two defenders while carrying chip of midfielder Ali Hossain and placed the ball past Mohammedan custodian Nehal in the far post net (1-0).
Mohammedan restored the parity in the 40th minute. Mohammedan forward Aminur Rahman Sajib’s angular free kick from right edge of the box rocked the Rahmatganj crosspiece and the ball landed in front of Cameroonian midfielder Nzekou Patrice who brilliantly headed the ball past Samiul Islam Masum, the Rahmatganj custodian into the far post (1-1).
Mohammedan’s Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura sealed the victory for his team in the 84th minute with a precise head capitalizing on a cross from Towhidul Alam Sobuj. The header beat Masum in the air and landed into the near post net (2-1).
It was the second consecutive defeats for the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj which remained at their previous credit of 22 points from 12 matches while Mohammedan took their tally to 12 points playing the same number of outings.
