The Department of Public Health of American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a daylong workshop on maternal and child nutrition recently. The aim of this program was to bring health care professionals such as doctors, nurses, nutritionists and others under an umbrella to acquire and disseminate knowledge on maternal and child nutrition.
Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Charles C. Villanueva inaugurated the program while Prof Dr Tofazzal Hossian (Vice President, Academics), Prof Dr Tazul Islam (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and MPH Faculty Dr Md. Aurangzeb was on the stage during the declaration of the opening of program.
The keynote speaker of the workshop was Dr Zeba Mahmud, Country Manager, Alive and Thrive, Bangladesh. Dr Salahuddin Ahmed, Director Research, Johns Hopkins University Bangladesh was the co-speaker of the program.
During the seminar the speakers discussed on Importance of maternal and child nutrition and nutritional assessment of children. The wonderful daylong program was ended with the prize distribution ceremony. Coca-cola and Social Marketing Company (SMC) were official partners for the successful accomplishment of the total arrangement.
