The 37th death anniversary of former Awami League (AL) leader and lawmaker freedom fighter Moyazuddin will be observed today.
To mark the day, different organisations, including Awami League, have chalked out elaborate programmes, including placing wreaths at the grave of the great leader in the morning, discussions, milad, doa mahfil and food distribution in the capital and elsewhere across the country.
Tributes will be paid at his grave at the Banani graveyard in the city at 9:00am.
A discussion meeting and doa will be held at Kaliganj upazila AL office at 11am.
Tributes will be paid to the Moyazuddin Memorial of the Upazila Parishad at 11.30 am.
A doa mahfil and food distribution program will be held at Noapara Moyazuddin High School ground at 1.00pm.
Milad mahfil and food distribution among the poor people will be held at Deupara Shaheed Moyazuddin Ferry Ghat Railway Eidgah ground at 4pm today.
Moyez Uddin, father of Awami League women affairs Secretary Meher Afroz Chumki, was killed by a criminal gang on 27th September, 1984 while he was leading a protest procession at Kaliganj during the anti-autocracy movement.
